AF-36 is a fictional multi role 4+ generation fighter developed jointly by Sukhoi and RSK Mig corporations as a response to European 4+ gen aircrafts. It shares their delta canard configuration but it`s design was loosely based on Su-47 and Mig 1.44 technology demonstrators. As such, the fuselage was made in 87% of composites, with S shaped engine intakes to reduce its RCS, witch is actually smaller than MIG-29 and comparable to Rafale. There is no internal weapon bays, due to the fact that fuel and range was more important than stealth. It was decided, for cost reductions, that no new avionics will be developed for the aircraft, all on board equipment will be stand off high tech, but "of shelf" devices. As a result, Russian managed to develop an affordable, agile fighter capable of deploying from short airfields, with great maintainability in field. Thanks to compatibility to all modern high tech weapons in RF air force it is more than capable to take on modern 4+ generation aircrafts in air combat as well as using sensors for precision ground attack missions, air strikes or recon. Very good aoa authority gives this supersonic aircraft predisposition for close air support as well. It is also capable of deploying nuclear weapons.
